It's a history whose story is largely told on scrapbook paper: journal pages, old
letters, birth, marriage and death certificates, newspaper clippings—the list of
memorabilia on paper is endless. Even with all our scanners, computers, and digital cameras, the romance of authentic historical documents and keepsakes is still best experienced by sitting down with scrapbook pages that contain absolutely genuine originals.
We must preserve these originals against their biggest enemy: acid. Until the 1980s
acid was part of most papers made for the past 200 years. Even today, decorative
and imported scrapbook papers—frequently used with our precious originals in
scrapbook albums—contain damaging acids that make originals brittle enough to
fall to pieces. This is why we developed PaperSaver—a better product to save
and protect precious originals against acids.
